Cataloger’s Corner

Another aspect of my professional life is that of a cataloger.  This summer I’m volunteering as an archives cataloger in the Manuscript Division of the South Caroliniana Library.

For the first time, I’m actually putting in catalog records into OCLC Connexion.  From there, my supervisor does one final check and then the records are added to the library catalog.

Here are some of my MARC records that are now in the USC library catalog:

Miles W. Quick papers, 1862 Mar. 2 – 1863 Aug. 22 http://libcat.csd.sc.edu/record=b3485177

South Carolina Militia, Court-martial proceedings for the Third Brigade (Walterboro, S.C.), 1844 June 24-July 24 http://129.252.189.70/record=b3485249

Paul Quattlebaum (1886-1964), Letter, 11 May 1957 (Conway, S.C.) to R.L. Meriwether (Columbia, S.C.)  http://129.252.189.70/record=b3485251

John Quinlin, Letter 1859 Dec. 1 (Charleston, S.C.) to Col. Andrew Pickens Calhoun (Fort Hill, S.C.)  http://129.252.189.70/record=b3485253
